Using Candlestick Patterns

To start looking for candlestick patterns, do the following:

  1. Make sure the Charts tab is open. Click ü Patterns in the upper right corner of the working area. 
  2. Click Select patterns... The Select Patterns window will appear.
  3. Select the Candlestick tab. You will see a list of all available candlestick patterns (both pre-defined and those previously added by you).
  4. Double-click the desirable pattern in this list. It will be immediately displayed on the Added Patterns list. Add as many patterns as you like. 
  5. To customize a pattern, mouse over its pane on the Added Patterns list and click the gear " icon. The following sections are available: 
  • Inputs and Options. Customize calculation methods and appearance settings. Candlestick patterns offer the same customization options as studies: Show study, Show plot names, Show input names, and Left axis. Note that you can hide candlestick patterns directly from the Charts area by right-clicking the pattern and selecting Hide study <name>…
  • Plots. Customize the visual representation of candlestick patterns in the Charts area. For more information, see Plots
  1. To remove a candlestick icon from the list, hover your mouse over its pane and click #. To clear the list, click Remove all
  2. Once you’ve finished the customization:
  • Select Apply to see configurations without closing the Select Patterns window. 
  • Select OK to save configurations and exit the Select Patterns window.
  • Select Cancel to discard configurations and exit the Select Patterns window.
